the challenge

Let's face it, organizing an event is quite a hassle as the event facilities, catering services, and activities are spread all over the internet. Each service provider has its own website (if any), so for example, if you want to organize a bachelorette party, you can spend easily a couple of hours browsing from web to web, making multiple phone calls, and writing quite a few emails without any certainty that you will get a proper answer for your request.So what if there would be a web app that can streamline this process where customers & service providers can benefit from it?

the solution

A web-app that can streamline the process of organizing an event, all done in one place. Customers save time and get a wider offering while service providers gain visibility. A win-win for all 🚀.The design of the platform itself began with the design of a prototype of the pilot phase. Together with the Happens team, we worked on the first prototype to present the idea to service providers as well as investors. The prototype was refined with further feedback, and the MVP version began to take the form of a clearer interface and a list of key features.

User journey

One of our main purposes was to streamline the flow for requesting a quote from multiple service providers.We wanted to achieve this by defining the main search criteria in 4 simple steps (place, type of event, date, number of guests) that allow the system to display a large set of results, giving the users the possibility to request quotations from multiple options.

UI kit & Wireframing

Once our flow was defined we started to create a basic UI KIT to facilitate the creation of templates and pages.
Our main goal was to keep the playfulness of the brand while keeping accessibility and usability in mind. We wanted to create an app that is fun, efficient, and easy to use.

User interface design

Events are all about getting together and having some good fun, so with that in mind we aimed to create a joyful feeling with imagery that represents playfulness, colors that are vibrant, soft and easy-to-read typography and round borders! a lot of round borders!

The search feature is our main tool for finding service providers. We defined a very simple search with the 4 four more important criteria that allow the system to show a big amount of relevant results.

And this is where it Happens, once you have selected a few service providers that match what you are looking for you can easily send a request for quotation to all of them with only one click, no matter how many venues you have selected.  Now you can relax, customized offers will soon be on your way to your email.

Results

The service was launched to the general public on October 1, 2021. As of today, Happens has 382 (and growing) service providers available on the app. Organizing an event was never easier!
