the challenge

How can we transition queuing from physical to digital spaces, redefining the familiar process by placing emphasis on your time? We aim to introduce a new, efficient queuing system, challenging the traditional approach. What value proposition will resonate strongly enough to change the ingrained habit of waiting in line?

the users

1. Individuals who have queued for services, with priority given to those for whom time is crucial (e.g., single parents, the elderly).

2. Service providers seeking to enhance their queuing systems by collecting data to improve customer service and predict peak hours.

3. Providers looking to fill last-minute cancellations.

the solution

We initiated a "Product Sprint" with the client, dedicating three days to analyze existing data, challenge assumptions, and derive insights. Conducting competitive research, we aimed to identify the app's value proposition within its ecosystem. Using the gathered insights, we crafted a user persona and simulated a use case through an iterated user flow, considering real-life situations and the app's target audience context.

Wireframes

Next, we created rough wireframes to visualize the product's functionality, content, and essential features for a top-notch user experience. Our work was guided by UX heuristics, specifically the 10 Usability Heuristics for UI Design, ensuring a robust foundation for the initial concept.

UI concept

With an initial navigation structure and defined brand elements, we generated UI concepts for testing. Our primary objectives were to assess trust-building elements and understand user behavior during hero search.

Features

For easy access to services, we prioritize "Search" as the primary UI action. Additionally, upon arrival, users can scan the on-site QR code to join the queue swiftly.

Geolocated

We aim to make queuing smart, easy, and enjoyable! By leveraging location data, we provide accurate estimated wait times and might even offer significant discounts for last-minute bookings at nearby businesses while you wait.

Notifications all the way

Our primary objective is to assist you in managing your time effectively. We keep you informed about every queue update, including if someone drops out. Wondering about your turn? Set a timer or check the app for real-time updates.
